When it comes to early childhood education and development, it is crucial to ensure that your child is provided with the very best. A child’s future depends on the quality of an early educational experience. This will provide the right opportunities for gaining success in school, academic achievement and a rewarding life. Many parents are unsure of how to differentiate between a quality learning environment, and an average day care or preschool.
Kids ‘R’ Kids Learning Academy of Beaumont, Kentucky is here to help you select and enjoy the best early education, and brain development programs available today.
Quality vs. quantity
Teaching a young child can be challenging. Quality early education is about connecting with a child on a comfortable level, and ensuring that the child feels both empowered and respected, at the same time. There are very few day care facilities and preschools that offer this kind of quality early education, as it requires time, effort and real dedication from everyone involved.
Nurturing growth in all aspects
Another important factor to consider is whether the preschool or day care offers growth and development in more than just academics. Physical, emotional, social and cognitive developments are all excellent and beneficial for your child. Growth in any of these areas should never be compromised. Locate a learning environment that caters to all of your child’s needs, if you truly want to provide a superior educational experience.
Kids ‘R’ Kids Learning Academy of Beaumont in Lexington, Kentucky offers you the ideal, quality early education and development necessary. For all we think we know about the brain, we continue to learn so much on a daily basis. Effective stimulation in early childhood can benefit a child up to fifteen years later, as shown by this study in The Guardian. This truly shows how vital the early developmental years can be for a child regarding brain development.
Allow us to share some insight with you on how effective stimulation of a child’s brain can provide him or her with a competitive advantage later in life:
The vital years
Learning and stimulation are good for any child, at any age. The key to real success is healthy brain development between the ages of zero and five. During this time, the brain is developing for more advanced learning. These foundations need to be big enough, so the brain has dedicated enough space for learning during early daycare years. If this does not take place the brain will not be prepared for more advanced concepts.
Practice makes perfect
Is is now understood that practice really does make perfect, in regard to understanding and retaining knowledge. The more your child actively partakes in certain activities, whether they are physical, cognitive or emotional, the better he or she will be at these activities later in life. Good foundations will develop a far greater comprehension of related subjects.
If you’re considering a daycare or preschool environment in which to enroll your child, you will want to ensure the best early childhood and infant brain development possible. At our Learning Academy in Lexington you can be confident that your child will be developing a solid foundation, which will continue to flourish later in life. Being a parent can be immensely stressful at times. Having to manage debt, working eight hours a day and coming home to cranky toddlers can push a parent to the very brink. Stress is a natural occurrence in the body, but needs to be managed correctly. In this piece we will take a look at how stress can affect your basic child care capabilities, and offer a few ideas about stress management.
How does your stress affect your ability to parent?
Stress can cause you to be impulsive, and act without thinking. It is important, however, not to lash out at a child, either physically or verbally. This is especially true for infants. Hitting or shouting at an infant who does not understand can frighten and emotionally scar the child. When you are stressed, and exhibit this type of behavior, you may not realize your own strength. This can cause lasting physical and emotional harm, contrary to the type of child care you are aiming for.
How can I lessen stress in my life?
The first way to decrease your stress level is to spend quality time with your family. Becoming part of fun and relaxing activities with family members may help to improve family relationships and reduce stress levels. Indulging in some quality time alone will often have a calming effect and aid in lessening stress. Read a book, listen to your favorite music or spend some time exercising. Enjoying a small amount of time apart from your child and family can actually be quite healthy. Everybody needs a break once in a while.

At Kids ‘R’ Kids Learning Academy of Beaumont, we have proudly maintained a high quality, educational preschool program for many years. Our “Hug First, Then Teach” philosophy allows each child to learn and grow in a safe and friendly environment and at an independent pace. We believe that your child should not only learn when in preschool, but also when at home. There are fun and educational ways that your preschooler can have fun and learn when not at preschool, and below we have listed some games that you and your child can enjoy together.
Educational play with building blocks
This game can teach your preschooler how to count or spell. Materials needed:
- Building blocks
- Some paper and a crayon
If you want to teach your child how to count, you can create a counting graph on the paper. Write large numbers from one to ten on the left side of the page, then tell your child to place the appropriate amount of building blocks on each line. If you want to teach your preschooler how to write the alphabet, write large letters on the paper then ask him or her to trace each letter using the building blocks.
Connect the dots
This game will help build your preschooler’s counting skills and shape recognition, and improve motor skills. You can use a chalk board for this game or some paper. Draw simple shapes and let him or her connect the dots to draw out the shape. If you add numbers to the dots, it will also teach your preschooler to count.
Painting with sponges
This game will help your preschooler improve counting skills and and teach him or her how to recognise different numbers. Materials needed:
- Child friendly paint in different colors
- Sponges cut into the shapes of different numbers
- Some paper
Place all of this on the floor and help your child dip a number sponge in the paint, then press it onto the paper. Paint the numbers in any order and ask to name each number as he or she paints. This is a fun and educational activity.

Your child’s brain develops at an exceptional rate during his or her first five years of life, creating essential neural connections that build the foundation for future learning. This time of a child’s life is critical for learning the skills, techniques and knowledge that will help him or her understand the world and achieve success later in life. With the amount of time your child spends in a day care center or with other caregivers, it is important that whomever is caring for your child provides him or her the tools for the best start in life.
How we provide a stimulating learning environment
At Kids ‘R’ Kids Learning Academy of Beaumont, we utilize our leading Brain Waves Curriculum to provide vital stimulation for brain development in the early years of your child’s life. We also provide a safe, loving environment where your child will feel secure, through our policy of “Hug First, Then Teach.” By building a strong bond with your child, he or she will be more open to learning and will absorb new stimulation more rapidly. In an environment filled with age-appropriate toys, bright colors, peers, and fun learning activities, your child will maximize his or her language, socio-emotional, physical and cognitive development.
We also encourage parents to continue this learning experience at home to help reinforce new skills and abilities, for example, with a trip to your local Lexington Public Library. Their summer reading program is a great way to socialize your child while engaging his or her language skills.
An investment in your child’s future
Proof that your child learns more in the early years of life than at any other time has been revealed in numerous studies on early childhood brain development. The brain is actually capable of creating up to eight hundred new neural pathways per minute when stimulated the right way and in the right environment. This directly affects the capabilities of your child when he or she reaches adulthood. Therefore, the average day care services are simply inadequate when it comes to maximizing the potential of your child.

Homeopathy is a form of alternative medicine that can often be safely applied to infants. It is highly advisable that your pediatrician is consulted first before you use any homeopathic remedies for any of your infant’s medical conditions, whether they are injuries, rashes, diarrhea or any other concerning problem. There is absolutely no substitute for the sound medical advice of your child’s pediatrician. Some alternative treatments that have been shown to provide infants with relief include:
● Probiotics: These contain helpful bacteria that re-establish a healthy balance of intestinal flora within your infant’s system and they are often recommended for infants suffering from diarrhea, colic and even eczema. Speak to your pediatrician for a recommendation on a brand and dosage.
● Chamomile or fennel tea: These herbal teas, served in a cool, mild dose several times a day are often recommended for infants with colic or gas. This can help reduce discomfort and calm infants who are fussing or crying.
● Reputable homeopathic remedies: If your pediatrician recommends this course of treatment, he or she can guide you towards a safe, reputable treatment for your child. These treatments cover a wide range of conditions and generally have no side effects and promote self-healing.
● Aromatherapy: As with adults, aromatherapy has been shown to help relieve pain, congestion and headaches as well as promote restful sleep. A couple of drops of essential oil in a bath is ideal. Choose eucalyptus for congestion, lavender for relaxation and peppermint for headaches. If your baby is fussing, simply try a few scents until you find one they love. Vanilla is always a favorite.
If you are interested in pursuing alternative treatments alongside traditional medicine, visit Baby Moon. They offer Mom and infant yoga classes that teach parents to help infants get relief from colic, improve the digestive system and improve sleeping patterns while promoting bonding.
